Tourist Attraction In and Around Aurangabad (Ellora Caves)

In the last two blog we have been to Bibi ka Maqbara and Mhaismal. Not today we will go to see the best destination for the Architectural and stone carving – Ellora Caves. Ellora caves are mostly famous for its ancient stone carving and architectural work done on the walls of the caves. It is one of most attractive tourist destination in and around the Aurangabad.


The Ellora Caves are an impressive complex of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain cave temples built between the 6th and 10th centuries AD near the ancient Indian village of Ellora. There are total 34 numbers of caves; out of that the most visited cave is Kailash Cave (Kailash Lenee). It is the most attractive monastery out of the all is present there.


The history of the Ellora caves is too long these caves were the places of staying of Buddhist, Hindus and Jain gods. Now these caves are called as the temples of the respective religions but it is the best tourist attraction for everyone.


Not only is the Ellora complex a unique artistic creation and a technological exploit but, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.
